Regal Ridge wildfire on Anarchist Mountain declared 'Under Control'

A fire that was initially listed as 'Out of Control' by BC Wildfire Service has been brought under control after 24 hours of firefighting efforts.

According to the Times Chronicle, the Regal Ridge wildfire on Anarchist Mountain was declared 'Under Control' at noon on July 14 after 24 hours of firefighting efforts by the SOS Task Force and multiple departments. The fire initially listed as 'Out of Control' by BC Wildfire Service.

The evacuation alert for Cougar Court and Sasquatch Trail was issued due to the fire threat, but has since been lifted. The Anarchist Mountain Fire Department expressed gratitude for the task force's quick response.

The SOS Task Force structure allowed for swift coordination among local departments, similar to previous wildfires in 2023 such as Keremeos Creek and Upper Park Rill Creek.
