Minimal collection
Osoyoos News collects only the information a reader chooses to submit through forms, such as name, email address, story tip details, event details, article URLs and supporting source links.
How submissions are used
Form submissions are used for newsroom review, corrections, community submissions, event intake, contact replies and newsletter delivery when applicable. Tips and corrections are not automatically published.
Local storage and email
Submissions may be stored locally by the site and emailed to the configured newsroom address when email delivery is available. Administrator access is required to view private newsroom tools.
No sale of addresses
Email addresses, contact details and newsletter signups are not sold. We are trying to run a useful local site, not start a spam empire.
Confidential sources
Ordinary web forms are not secure anonymous drop boxes. Do not use them for information requiring strong anonymity, confidential whistleblowing protections or emergency reporting.
Security limits
The site uses practical safeguards such as authentication, spam controls and private admin areas, but no public website can guarantee perfect security. Readers should avoid submitting unnecessary private personal information.
