Osoyoos Indian Band and Gorman Group Collaborate on Forest Management

The Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB) and the Gorman Group have signed an agreement to manage forest resources under a joint partnership, aiming for economic growth and job creation.

The Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Gorman Group to manage forest resources for TFL 59, an initiative that will involve direct involvement of OIB members in planning and management processes. This collaboration aims to create more employment opportunities and economic benefits within the region.

Under this agreement, the joint Planning and Management Committee will oversee how the partnership is implemented. The Osoyoos Forest Nursery, a facility managed by Gorman Group, will be used for growing seedlings necessary for reforestation projects. Additionally, both parties have committed to developing training programs and career development opportunities for members of the OIB.
