Visitor Centre Receives Heritage Permit for Kitchen Upgrades

The Oliver Visitor Centre, located at 6431 Station Street, will undergo renovations.

According to a report by Times Chronicle, the Oliver Visitor Centre has received a heritage permit for kitchen upgrades. The centre, located at 6431 Station Street, will undergo renovations.

The proposal covers interior and exterior changes to the kitchen area, with the Heritage Authority of British Columbia (HAP) covering the costs.

The Oliver Downtown Heritage Society (ODHS) recommended approval with conditions on vent size and visibility.

However, the Town of Oliver Council approved the project unanimously, supporting the renovations. The centre previously served as a Canadian Pacific Railway station in Edwardian style.
