Three community events happening in Osoyoos Saturday

Osoyoos residents have several ways to get outside and take part in the community Saturday, with a group bicycle ride, a charity poker run and the Pride Arts Festival all taking place around town.

Saturday morning ride

The day begins with the weekly Sessions Saturday Ride, leaving from Sessions Outdoor Sports at 8503 78th Avenue.

The community bicycle ride runs from 8 to 10 a.m. Cyclists interested in joining are encouraged to arrive prepared to ride and check with Sessions for any last-minute route or weather updates.

Ride for Tianna

Cars, trucks and motorcycles will gather at Gino’s Coffee House for the first Legacy Poker Run, part of the third annual Gino’s Legacy fundraiser.

This year’s event is being held for Tianna, a young dirt-bike enthusiast who is undergoing treatment for Ewing sarcoma.

The ride begins at 11 a.m. and is expected to finish around 2 p.m., with both the starting and finishing points at Gino’s Coffee House, 8316 Main Street.

Participants will travel to five stops and collect one playing card at each. Prizes and trophies will be awarded for the best poker hands.

Entry is by donation, and organizers say all proceeds will go directly to Tianna and her family. Cars and trucks are welcome alongside motorcycles, so owning a bike is not required to participate.

Pride Arts Festival returns to Gyro Park

The Pride Arts Festival will also take place Saturday at Gyro Park, bringing together musicians, dancers, speakers, visual artists, vendors and community organizations.

The celebration begins with a Pride parade at 11 a.m., followed by performances and activities in the park throughout the day. Food trucks and displays by participating artists and vendors will also be on site.

Organized by the Wide Arts National Association, the festival is intended as an inclusive community celebration highlighting a range of performing, visual and literary arts.

Admission to the family-friendly event is free.
