The Sinlahekin wildfire has seen a slight improvement in containment efforts, with the fire now at 42% contained. Evacuation alerts have been lifted for certain areas within Tonasket and nearby regions.
Despite this progress, the wildfire continues to expand on its northernwestern edge, covering over 60,000 hectares of land. Osoyoos Fire Rescue is coordinating with Washington authorities to manage the situation.
