OSOYOOS — Canada Day is expected to bring a full day of celebration to Osoyoos on Wednesday, July 1, with the community’s 76th annual Cherry Fiesta and Canada Day events centred around Main Street, Gyro Beach Park and the lakefront.
The Osoyoos Festival Society says the Cherry Fiesta Parade will begin at 11 a.m. sharp on Main Street. After the parade, activities are expected to continue at Gyro Beach Park, where organizers list games, events and live music through the day, ending with fireworks over Osoyoos Lake.
Castanet’s current Canada Day guide reports the Osoyoos celebration will include familiar holiday favourites such as the parade, water fight, races, entertainment, vendors, beer gardens and a 10 p.m. fireworks show.

Parade participants have a separate morning schedule. Osoyoos Festival Society parade documents say entries must register at the Sun Bowl Arena between 8 and 9:15 a.m., be ready for judging at 9:30 a.m., and be prepared for the parade to start at 11 a.m. sharp.
The same parade information reminds participants that items may not be thrown from parade entries, handouts must be delivered curbside, and no water balloons, squirters or spraying are permitted from parade entries.
Vendors are also expected around the festival area. Festival Society vendor information says Cherry Fiesta venues must be set up between 7 and 10 a.m. before the parade, and no vehicles are allowed in or out of Gyro Park between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Along with the main Cherry Fiesta schedule, Destination Osoyoos lists several other July 1 events in and around town. Spirit Ridge Resort lists poolside yoga from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Lakeside Cellars lists an Artist in Action event with Noah Madeline at 2 p.m. Spirit Beach Cantina lists live music at 8 p.m., with the note that live events are not for children or pets.
Nk’Mip Cellars is also listing a 19-plus Fireworks Viewing Party for July 1. The event is listed at $55 per person and includes canapes, a welcome glass of sparkling wine, live music and a view of the fireworks over Osoyoos Lake. Destination Osoyoos also lists a Canada Day After Party at 777 Lounge + Club at 10 p.m.
For those looking just outside Osoyoos, Destination Osoyoos also lists a red-and-white blind tasting at Hester Creek Estate Winery in Oliver from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and a Piano Lounge event at Phantom Creek Winery from 3 to 6 p.m.
With the parade, lakefront events, evening fireworks and several private venue events all falling on the same day, residents should expect busy traffic and parking around Main Street, Gyro Park and the waterfront. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, bring water, plan a safe ride home, and check organizer updates before finalizing plans.
