Oliver/Osoyoos Farmers Offered Workshop on Coexisting with Bats

Farmers in Oliver and Osoyoos, BC are invited to a free workshop hosted by local organizations aimed at teaching safe coexistence with bats and their benefits for agriculture. The event will take place on November 7th at Burrowing Owl Winery.

Farmers in the South Okanagan region are being invited to a free workshop designed to educate them on how to coexist safely with bats and understand their beneficial role in agriculture. The event is organized by the BC Community Bat Program and the Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society, and will be held at Burrowing Owl Winery in Oliver/Osoyoos.

The workshop aims to address concerns about protecting endangered Little Brown Myotis bats from white-nose syndrome, a fungal disease that has devastated bat populations across North America. By attending the event, farmers can learn effective pest control methods that do not harm bats and other wildlife.
