Ken Davreux puts water and fiscal responsibility at centre of council campaign
Ken Davreux says his decision to run for Osoyoos Town Council comes from a deep attachment to the community he has called home since 1997.
“There is not enough dynamite to get me out of here,” Davreux said, describing both his commitment to Osoyoos and his desire to help shape its future.
Davreux brings previous council experience to the race, having served as an Osoyoos councillor from 2002 to 2006. He is also a local business owner and Director of Osoyoos Emergency Support Services.
After nearly 30 years in the community, Davreux believes he understands many of the challenges facing residents and wants to bring practical solutions to the council table.
Water quality sits at the top of his list.
Davreux said the Town must address its water-quality problems while making better use of the water meters already installed throughout the community. He believes water charges should more accurately reflect how much water each property uses.
“We have invested in water meters, and we need to make better use of them so water costs are fairly reflected in usage,” he said.
Fiscal responsibility is another central part of his campaign. Drawing on his experience managing budgets, Davreux said he would carefully examine how municipal money is being spent and work to ensure taxpayers receive value for their dollars.
“Osoyoos’s future matters to me,” he said. “I will work to find practical solutions that benefit all residents.”
