Boundary-Similkameen MLA Donegal Wilson Joins Independent Group, Leaving Conservative Caucus

Boundary-Similkameen MLA Donegal Wilson has joined an independent group after leaving the BC Conservative caucus over concerns about leadership and financial issues.

Donegal Wilson, a Boundary-Similkameen MLA and former member of the BC Conservative caucus, has announced her departure from the party. The MLA cited dissatisfaction with leadership under Kerry-Lynne Findlay, who was elected leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia in May.

Wilson's decision to leave stems from concerns about financial mismanagement and allegations involving some of Findlay’s staff, which she claims are linked to an Alberta separatist movement. Two former Conservatives, including Ian Paton, have also been interviewed by RCMP regarding these issues.

The MLA requested a face-to-face caucus meeting with party members but was informed that the meeting would not be held at the last minute, leading Wilson to conclude her membership in the Conservative Party of British Columbia and join an independent group.
