Town of Osoyoos and OIB Renew Fire Protection Agreement
The Town of Osoyoos and the Osoyoos Indian Band have renewed their fire protection agreement for five years.
According to a report by the Times Chronicle, the Town of Osoyoos and the Osoyoos Indian Band have renewed their fire protection agreement for five years. The agreement was first reached in 2002, with previous renewal term expiring at the end of December 2025.
New development on OIB lands raised concerns about impact on fire preparedness, but council unanimously approved the new extension.
Mayor Sue McKortoff and CAO Marg Coulson will sign the agreement. The renewed agreement will run until December 1, 2030.
