Osoyoos Museum Receives Council Approval for Zoning Change
The Osoyoos museum has secured council approval to seek zoning change, aiming to establish itself as an official cultural facility.
The Desert Speed Heritage Museum (DSHM) has received unanimous support from the Town of Osoyoos Council for a zoning change that would allow it to operate as an official cultural facility. The proposed change, which includes year-round tourist attraction and economic contributions, is set for public hearing on September 8, Labor Day weekend.
The Zoning Change Bill would enable DSHM to continue operating in the Buena Vista Industrial Park under reduced noise concerns while also allowing a non-profit auto shop to remain operational. This move will help solidify Osoyoos as a major tourism contributor and economic hub.
