Municipal officials in Osoyoos, British Columbia have voted unanimously to extend their six-year waste management contract with Waste Connections Canada Inc. (WCC), a move that includes rate increases and new initiatives aimed at managing yard waste effectively.
The amended contract will see two collection events per year for garbage, along with the introduction of a 'tag-a-bag' program to handle yard waste. Mayor Sue McKortoff expressed support for aligning Osoyoos' waste management practices with other municipalities in the South Okanagan region.
