The Osoyoos Municipal Council has approved a six-year extension of the waste collection contract with Waste Connections of Canada Inc. (WCC), marking an agreement that includes rate increases and new initiatives to manage yard waste effectively.

Under the amended contract, WCC will continue its service in Osoyoos, offering two collection events per year for garbage and implementing a tag-a-bag program for managing yard waste. Mayor Sue McKortoff supports aligning with other municipalities in the South Okanagan region.
