Oliver Heritage Society Seeks Clarity in Annual Budget Review

The Oliver Heritage Society aims to achieve clearer objectives by 2027, according to a presentation made to the Oliver Council.

According to a recent report from Times Chronicle, the Oliver Heritage Society (ODHS) is working towards clearer objectives by 2027. The society presented its accomplishments and future plans to the Oliver Council during a recent meeting.

The ODHS has identified several key priorities for the upcoming year, including the upgrade of its data collections system. This project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Despite staff reductions, the museum attendance at the Oliver Heritage Society remains stable. The society also received donations from the Town of Oliver and Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS), totaling over $8,000 compared to the previous year's operating budget.

The ODHS has also announced that it will collaborate with RDOS on the Fairview Jail project for potential regional park management. Additionally, volunteer contributions remain strong, with over 1,800 hours of work in the past year.
