Grant Presentation Paints a Mixed Picture for Oliver

The Town of Oliver receives first grant updates in over six months.

According to a recent update from the Times Chronicle, Stephanie Moore, Grants Coordinator for the Town of Oliver, presented the June 2026 Grant Funding Update. This marks the first grant updates in over six months for the town.

The presentation revealed that over $8 million worth of grant applications are currently pending decisions. Two profiles were approved: Wolfcub Creek Corridor and Similkameen Avenue upgrades. However, the BC Air Access program and Rockcliffe irrigation pump upgrade applications were rejected.

Additionally, the Oliver Airport profile was not considered due to geographic priority area considerations. The FireSmart program received $400,000 in funding from UBCM, while the Town of Oliver is applying for a TD Friends of the Environment Foundation grant. An upcoming application is also pending for the Build Communities Strong Fund for Similkameen Avenue upgrades up to over $2.75 million.

The mixed picture presented by the grant updates suggests that the town is actively pursuing various funding opportunities to support its projects and initiatives.
