Collaborative Water Preservation Effort Continues in Osoyoos
Osoyoos Council Receives Presentation on Collaborative Water Efforts from Indigenous Leaders and Local Governments
A collaborative water preservation effort continues in Osoyoos, according to a recent presentation from Indigenous leaders and local governments. The Okanagan Similkameen Collaborative Leadership Table (CLT) is working towards a 250-year watershed responsibility plan.
The CLT includes representatives from local governments and Syilx nations, aiming to address water issues collaboratively. Osoyoos is part of a broader collaborative effort involving multiple levels of government and Indigenous organizations.
Leaders from Osoyoos, the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen, and other regions have signed off on the plan. The CLT has established working groups for governance and ecological concerns, meeting three times per year.
