Wine Capital Weekend in Oliver Smashes Stomping Success

The 27th annual Festival of the Grape capped off Wine Capital Weekend in Oliver, with a record number of attendees and participation from wineries on Summerland's Bottleneck Drive.

According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, the 27th annual Festival of the Grape took place in Oliver, marking the grand finale of three days of celebrations. The event was organized by Oliver Tourism with support from community partners.

The festival saw a record number of wine lovers, families, and festivalgoers attend, as well as participation from wineries on Summerland's Bottleneck Drive. The Babushka Queens, a team without a win for 27 years, entered the grape stomp competition, while Minions and glitter fairies competed in the kids' competition.

The event was deemed an 'elevated experience' by Oliver Tourism Association chair Danielle Hutton, who noted that September is an ideal time for visitors to showcase South Okanagan's special qualities. The weather played along, making it a 'magical night'. Ian Lobb
