Wildfire Control Lifts Osoyoos Area Evacuation Alert

An evacuation alert for Cougar Court and Sasquatch Trail east of Osoyoos was lifted on Tuesday after wildfire control measures were implemented by BC Wildfire Service.

Following the implementation of wildfire control measures by BC Wildfire Service, an evacuation alert for Cougar Court and Sasquatch Trail in the Osoyoos area was lifted on Tuesday. The blaze, initially considered human-caused, had been brought under control by Monday evening at 11:30 p.m., prompting the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen to cancel the alert for nearby properties.

Additionally, the anarchist-style wildfire known as Anarchist Mountain east of Osoyoos was also declared under control. Despite this positive development, the evacuation alert for Cougar Court and Sasquatch Trail remains in place pending further review.
