A small wildfire was reported northwest of Osoyoos, according to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos.

A small wildfire was reported northwest of Osoyoos, according to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos. The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is monitoring the situation closely.

The fire started in the Upper Richter Creek area near Mount Kobaup and is approximately .009 hectares in size. It is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

Residents are advised to avoid the area until emergency personnel can work safely. The BC Wildfire Service is responding to the situation.
