A new app developed by Oliver man Brian Pentz has been launched, providing real-time safety alert system for visitors and residents along the Okanagan Wine Route. The app, called Okanagan Wine Route app, adds a wildfire alerts feature that provides updates every 30 minutes to keep routes up-to-date.

The app also includes direct link to official B.C. government notices, traffic stop information within a 50-kilometre radius, and evacuation alerts from BC Wildfire Service and BC Emergency Management.

The app is available for free on mobile and web platforms, making it a valuable resource for those traveling or living in the area.
