Osoyoos Residents to Offer Input on Housing Policy Changes
Residents of Osoyoos will have an opportunity to provide feedback as their city council considers repealing an old affordable housing program and revising the Official Community Plan.
Osoyoos residents will participate in a public hearing on October 13 to weigh in on the city council's plan to repeal an old affordable housing program and amend the Osoyoos Official Community Plan. The Near Market Affordable Housing program, which was halted due to provincial rules in 2024, has only sold ten homes since its inception. Council voted to repeal a decade-old bylaw containing the housing program and changed its density for the Southeast Meadowlark Area.
Written submissions can be sent to [email protected] until October 13 at noon. The hearing aims to gather input from residents on how best to address affordable housing needs in Osoyoos, following council's decision to alter previous policies.
