Osoyoos Photographer's Firefighting Experience

Debra Ceravolo, an Osoyoos photographer known for capturing images of wildfire responses, was invited to tour an air tanker base after the Anarchist Mountain fire cleared its smoke. The encounter provided insights into aerial firefighting operations.

Debra Ceravolo, a local photographer from Osoyoos, captured images of the Anarchist Mountain wildfire response. Living just one kilometre away from the affected area, she was uniquely positioned to document the situation.

Following the clearing of smoke after the fire, Ceravolo received an invitation to tour an air tanker base. The air tankers are Conair Aerial Firefighting planes converted from Dash 8-400 aircraft, each capable of carrying up to 10,000 litres of fire retardant.

During her visit, she observed the planes making six passes over the Anarchist Mountain fire and met a pilot who shared information about air tanker operations. Ceravolo expressed gratitude for firefighters' efforts on social media.
