Osoyoos Opens Cooling Centres Amid Heat Wave
Heat wave grips South Okanagan, Osoyoos opens cooling centres
According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, the Town of Osoyoos has opened cooling centres due to the ongoing heat wave. The locations include Sonora Community Centre and Okanagan Regional Library.
Residents are advised to stay cool, especially seniors and people with health conditions. Cooling centres will be open at specific times: Sonora Community Centre from Monday to Friday 8:30am-8pm and Saturday 9am-4pm, and Okanagan Regional Library from Tuesday to Thursday 10am-8pm.
Residents are also reminded to monitor for heat exhaustion and stroke symptoms.
