Osoyoos Men Honoured for Saving Cardiac Arrest Victim

Two Osoyoos men have been honored by BC Emergency Health Services for their off-duty heroism in saving a life.

According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, Nathan Harper and Joshua Tomlin from Osoyoos Home Hardware were honored by BC Emergency Health Services for their actions in saving Matthew Card's life.

The incident occurred on September 2024 at Osoyoos Home Hardware, where Matthew Card collapsed while walking in the store aisle due to cardiac arrest.

Nathan Harper brought an automated external defibrillator (AED) to the scene, and Joshua Tomlin performed CPR on Card before using the AED, which restored spontaneous circulation and breathing.
