Osoyoos Manganese Water Advisory Remains in Effect
The Town of Osoyoos continues to monitor manganese levels in its water supply, with an advisory in place since July 7.
The Town of Osoyoos has issued a manganese water quality advisory, with levels measured at 0.125 and 0.159 mg/L, exceeding the safe limit.
According to Interim Chief Administrative Officer Marg Coulson, the issue cannot be resolved quickly due to the natural presence of the element in the water supply.
Residents are advised to use alternate sources of drinking water for infants and immunocompromised individuals until a treatment plan is implemented.
The Town of Osoyoos has been sampling manganese weekly with Interior Health's guidance, aiming to drop the advisory. The current advisory has been in effect since July 7.
