Oliver Murder Trial Set to Begin in September After Translation Challenges

The Oliver murder trial, which has been delayed due to translation issues involving witness testimony from Spanish to English, is set to commence at the Supreme Court in September following approval for an outside translation company.

Pedro Antonio Murillo, the accused who shot a man during an altercation, remains in custody. The trial has been held up due to the need for translation of witness testimonies from Spanish to English.

Crown prosecutors have sought and received approval from Judge Lynett Jung to use an outside translation company for audio recordings instead of accessing the original Spanish transcript, which was deemed problematic due to its poor quality.

The resolution of these issues has paved the way for the trial to proceed as planned in September. The case will now move ahead with the support of a professional translation service to ensure accurate and timely communication between all parties involved.
