According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, the Oliver Fire Department responded to a possible ammonia leak at the BC Tree Fruits building off Co-op Avenue.
A safety zone has been established on Co-op Avenue, Station Street, Sawmill Road, and Packinghouse Lane, with the public advised to avoid the area and stay indoors if near it.
The incident is not directly related to a recent wildfire in Nelson, which remains the largest W Kootenay wildfire.
