Gyro Park to Undergo Overhaul as Part of Osoyoos Parks Master Plan

The Town of Osoyoos has announced plans to overhaul Gyro Park, including the relocation of the Seniors Centre and lawn-bowling setup, as part of its parks master plan.

According to a recent announcement by the Times Chronicle, the Town of Osoyoos has included Gyro Park in its parks master plan. The facilities at the park are aging and no longer meet current needs.

The master plan aims to replace outdated infrastructure, improve accessibility, and enhance the overall user experience. A phased approach will be used to achieve these goals.

Some of the proposed changes include the relocation of the Seniors Centre and lawn-bowling setup, as well as the installation of a new bandshell with a covered multi-purpose facility. The permanent dock plans have been dropped, but a floating swimming dock has been retained.

The plan also includes recommendations for accessibility improvements, such as ramps, and suggestions for expanding the sandy beach space to ease congestion.
