Former Osoyoos Indian Band Employee Files Wrongful Dismissal Lawsuit

A 69-year-old former employee of the Osoyoos Indian Band has filed a wrongful dismissal lawsuit against her former employer.

According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, Joyce Lavallee, a 69-year-old former employee of the Osoyoos Indian Band, has filed a wrongful dismissal lawsuit against her former employer.

Lavallee worked as financial controller for 12 years, including remotely from Nova Scotia. She claims that her signing and administrative authority with Royal Bank of Canada were removed without notice in May 2025.

The claim alleges termination on October 23, 2025, without cause. Lavallee seeks damages for wrongful dismissal, aggravated damages, and costs associated with termination.
