Former Conservative MLA Donegal Wilson Joins New B.C. Party
Donegal Wilson, the seventh MLA to join a new party since election, leaves BC Conservative caucus in September 2026.
Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos reported that Donegal Wilson, the MLA for Similkameen, has left the BC Conservative caucus and joined a new party led by Peter Milobar.
Wilson stated that she left the Conservative caucus due to leadership issues, not principles. Her departure follows nine other MLAs leaving the caucus post-election.
The new party aims to replace the NDP as a credible alternative for the next election. Wilson's decision marks the seventh MLA to join the unnamed new party since the election.
Wilson is the latest in a series of high-profile defections from the BC Conservative caucus, which has been plagued by internal conflicts and leadership issues.
