Father Speaks at Edmonton Sentencing Hearing After Osoyoos Boy's Death

A father from Osoyoos, B.C., addressed a sentencing hearing in Edmonton after his 11-year-old son was killed by dogs.

Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos reported that Wesley Grist, father of Kache Grist, spoke at a sentencing hearing in Edmonton. Mr. Grist expressed his constant grief over his son's death.

Mr. Grist urged the court not to send dog owner Crystal MacDonald to prison. Ms. MacDonald was found guilty of criminal negligence causing death for killing boy with dogs named Khaos and Kairo.

Kache died from bite injuries after visiting father during spring break at Ms. MacDonald's home. The dogs had previously killed two pets and injured three adults before the incident.
