Changes to curbside collection

A new waste collection agreement with Waste Connections of Canada is now in effect. Residents should be aware of the following changes to curbside collection.

A new waste collection agreement with Waste Connections of Canada is now in effect. Residents should be aware of the following changes to curbside collection.

There are no changes to curbside garbage or recycling collection.

Waste Connections will no longer pick up unlimited yard waste. For bi-weekly yard waste collection residents may place one automated yard waste cart at the curb. If you have additional yard waste, Tag-a-Bag stickers can be purchased at Town Hall (8707 Main Street, Monday to Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM.). One sticker is required for each kraft paper yard waste bag.

Additional yard waste bins or containers will no longer be collected.

New: Bi-Annual Unlimited Yard Waste Pickup Unlimited yard waste collection will be offered during periods of higher seasonal yard cleanup, with two collection events in the spring and two in the fall.

The fall 2026 collection dates are: • October 13, 2026 • November 10, 2026

On these dates, residents may place their automated yard waste cart and additional kraft paper yard waste bags at the curb. Tag-a-Bag stickers are not required during unlimited collection events.

Spring unlimited yard waste and large item collection dates will be announced as part of the 2027 Curbside Collection Calendar.
