Baby Bobcat Spotted in Osoyoos Backyard

A rare sighting of a baby bobcat was captured on camera in an Osoyoos homeowner's backyard.

According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, a local resident captured a photo of a baby bobcat in her backyard on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2026.

The homeowner, Julie McCaskill, shared the photo on Facebook and a wildlife page, where it has been viewed by many.

The baby bobcat was seen climbing a tree without its mother present, measuring about half the size of a house cat.

Despite the initial sighting, there have been no further signs of the baby or its mother since Tuesday's visit. The Interior Wildlife Rehabilitation Society advises keeping distance from wildcats.
