Cougar Mountain Fire Continues to Grow, No Evacuations Issued
A wildfire detected near Whistler on June 24th has grown to cover an area of 6.5 hectares by the evening of June 25th, with no evacuations or alerts issued despite ongoing efforts by firefighting crews.
The Cougar Mountain wildfire, initially discovered on June 24th near Whistler, has expanded to cover an area of approximately 6.5 hectares by the evening of June 25th.
Despite this growth, no evacuations or alerts have been issued as a result of the fire's containment and efforts from two attack crews and one unit crew working on the site.
B.C. Wildfire Service has identified lightning as the suspected cause of the Cougar Mountain wildfire, which remains under surveillance for any potential changes in its size or behavior.
