Osoyoos Launches FireSmart Survey to Guide Wildfire Preparedness Efforts

The Town of Osoyoos is seeking resident input on wildfire preparedness efforts through a new FireSmart survey.

According to Castanet Oliver/Osoyoos, the Town of Osoyoos has launched a FireSmart survey to guide local wildfire preparedness efforts. The initiative is a partnership between the Town of Osoyoos and Regional District Okanagan Similkameen.

The FireSmart Program development includes hiring a new specialist due to a $200,000 grant from the Union of BC Municipalities. This investment aims to enhance the town's wildfire preparedness capabilities.

Residents can complete the survey and learn more about FireSmart at provided links. The Town of Osoyoos will also host a FireSmart Community BBQ on June 27, where residents can gather information and provide feedback.
