The Okanagan Community Bat Program is seeking local volunteers to participate in the 15th annual BC Annual Bat Count starting on June 1. Volunteers are needed to help biologists monitor maternity roosts across the region, where female bats gather during the summer to raise their young. By camping outside these roosts for one hour at sunset, helpers collect vital data that supports bat conservation and helps track threats like white-nose syndrome.
